Motivational Story of Major D P Singh (India’s Blade Runner)

Motivational Story of Major D P Singh

In 1999, there was the war of Kargil between India and Pakistan. The Indian troops were executing Operation Vijay. While on the way to their victory, on July 15, 1999, a young champ leading his men was hit by a mortar. Because of that, his vital organs were grievously injured.

Lying on the ground in the pool of blood, he was taken to the field hospital where he was declared dead by the Sargon. But death is hard to hit a patriot and that what made that guy to beat death and managed to be alive.

Doctors amputated his leg and bring him back to life. In the initial medical care, the doctors were struggling to separate 40 splinters embedded immersed in his body. He is none other than Major DP Singh.

One could lose his temper after seeing himself disabled, but its contrary for Major DP Singh. Major Singh stated that “When I learned I’d lost my leg, I told myself that this would be yet another challenge in my life,” He endured 10 painful years of recuperation thereafter.

I just couldn’t get used to the sympathetic glances I used to get from people. After a while, I was desperate to change that,” he says. During an interview, Singh once stated that “If I had recovered, I could have been any other person walking on a street. Even if I had died, I would have been one of the thousands of unsung Indian soldiers.
