Women’s Day 2020: Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi is one of the three daughters of the country who has made India proud. Avani Chaturvedi has become the first Indian Air Force women flying officer to flight a fighter gets, MiG-21 Bason. MiG 21 Bason is considered to have the highest landing and takeoff speed over the scope. She was earlier being trained with a trainer, but Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi made history as she flew her plane for 30 minutes from Gujarat’s Jamnagar Airbase.

Hails From Madhya Pradesh: Indian Air Force Officer Avani hails from Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. She started her schooling from Deoband in Madhya Pradesh.

Born in 1993: She was born on 27th of October 1993 in Rewa, MP. She was highly inspired to join the Indian Air Force by his elder brother, who is an Indian Army Officer.

Studied from Banasthali  University: Avani Chaturvedi completed her B.tech from Banasthali University, Rajasthan. After she was recommended for the training, she was to be prepared for the rejections. His father Dinkar Chaturvedi is currently serving as an Executive Engineer in Wate Resource Department.

Gave AFCAT 1 2014: She completed her B.Tech from Banasthali University, Rajasthan. She has made India proud by adding the name of Indian in the list of countries where Women fighter pilot flew the Fighter jet. She completed her graduation in 2014 and later attended the AFCAT Exam 2014.

Joined Flying Club in College: During her graduation tenure in the college, she joined the Flying Club, where she flew planes and earned the experience of flying planes for numerous hours.

Commissioned in Flying Branch: She was commissioned under 44 SSC (W) (FLYING) Batch with Course no- 197/15F/SSC(W).

Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi

2nd in Merit List: Avani Chaturvedi ranked second in the merit list released by the Indian Air Force. Third and fourth rank held by Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh respectively.

AFCAT Number: During the AFACT Exam, Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi was having the AFCAT No 265682.

Training at AFA Dundigal: After getting recommended for the Flying branch in IAF, she underwent one-year vigorous training at Air Force Academy at Dundigal (Hyderabad). The training started from January 2015.

One of the First Three Female Pilots: Avani is one of the three Women Fighter Pilots who joined the Indian Air Force under the first batch of female pilots. The other two names are Flying Officer Bhawana Kanth and Flying Officer Mohana Singh. The trio female pilots were commissioned in the Indian Air Force on 18th June 2016.

Loves to Play Chess: Avani Chaturvedi loves to play Chess, and Table tennis. She also loves sketches and painting.

Avani About Indian Air Force: On an interview, she explained Indian Air Force as “Any air force is defined by its fighters. My dream is to become a good fighter pilot, on whom my seniors can rely when it comes to flying live operations. I want to fly the best fighter aircraft and learn more and more each day.”

Latest FB Update: According to Avani Chaturvedi Facebook update, she started working as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force from 22nd of February 2018.

Trained with Trainer Jets: Before taking the solo flight of MiG-21 Bison, Avani practiced in multiple other easier-to-handle aircraft like Pilatus PC-7 Turboprops, Kiran and Kawk trainer jets.
