IAF Lost Squadron Leader Abhinav Choudhary in MiG-21 Crash
Indian Air Force on 20th of May 2021 lost one of his Pilots in a MiG-21 fighter jet crash. The crash took place at Langeana village of Moga district in Punjab late on Thursday. The fighter jet was on its way back to Suratgarh after a routine training at the time of the accident.
The deceased pilot has been identified as Squadron Leader Abhinav Choudhary. The jet crashed around 9.30pm and it took more than 3 hours to locate Choudhary’s body in the fields, said police.

About Squadron Leader Abhinav Choudhary
Abhinav studied in a Meerut school till class 7. He then moved to Dehradun for further schooling. During his young age, he developed a keen interest in the military and started working hard to pursue a course at Dehardun’s IMA. He was trained at the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad and was posted at the Pathankot base from 2014 onwards.

Reason Behind Sqn Ldr Abhinav’s Death
Moga SP (HQ) Gurdeep Singh told The Indian Express, “His body was found 2 km away from the crash spot after an intense search of nearly four hours. His parachute was found open and an SOS was also sent from his device to IAF, but he had died by then. He tried to land safely using the parachute, but apparently broke his neck and spinal cord.”
