India Lost Major Mayank Vishnoi 44 RR Rajput [Shopian Encounter]

India lost Major Mayank Vishnoi of 44 RR (Rajputana Rifles) during Shopian Encounter in Jammy & Kashmir. During the encounter, he succumbed to injuries, and he was being treated at the Military Hospital, Udhampur. He took his last breath on Saturday (11 September 2021). For his exemplary bravery and leadership, he was conferred with SENA MEDAL on 15 August.

On 27 August, Major Mayank was engaged in an encounter with the terrorists in Shopian. During the encounter, he was head-injured and was undergoing treatment in Udhampur Military Hospital.

Son of Retired Subedar: Major Mayank’s father also served the Indian Army. He was retired from the Indian Army as a Subedar. Mayank was inspired by his father to join the Indian Army.

Joined IMA in 2010: Major Mayank was passionate to join the Indian Army since childhood, and his dream came true in 2010. he joined Indian Military Academy.

Was Promoted to Major Rank in 2010: Mayank Vishnoi was promoted to the rank of Major in 2019.

He Was a Trained Commando: Major Mayank was also a trained commando.

Awarded with SENA MEDAL: on 15 August, he was awarded with SENA MEDAL as he was injured on August 27.

50 Lakh Financial Assistance by UP Government: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced financial assistance of 50 lakh rupees to the kin of the martyred Army Major Mayank Vishnoi. Moreover, he also announced to give a government job to one member of the martyr’s family and to name a road in the Meerut district after the martyr.

Mayank Vishnoi was married to Swati on 18 April 2021. He was the only son of his parents. He is survived by his wife, father, mother, and two sisters.

Unfortunately, we lost Major Mayank Vishnoi at the young age of 30. But he will always be an inspiration for all.
