History of Selection Centre Bangalore

Bangalore SSB centre has three boards, two of the Army (17 SSB and 24 SSB) and one of the Navy (12 SSB). 12 SSB was the first board established on 1st April 1949 to select candidates for Navy and Army. 24 SSB was established in December 1962. In march 197, 17 SSB was moved from Roorkee. Selection Centre South, Bangalore, is located on Cubbon road Bangalore. This selection centre has given numerous potential leaders to the Nation. The head of selection centre is the officer of Major General rank, who is also the president of 17 SSB.
