India Lost Lt Col Abheet Singh Batth – Mortal Remains Found After 12 Days

The mortal remains of Lt Col Abheet Singh Batth were found after 12 days from the Ranjit Sagar Dam near Pathankot. Lt Col Abheet Singh and Captain Jayant were missing after their helicopter (Indian Army helicopter Rudra) crashed on the 2nd of August 2021. According to the information, the postmortem of the dead body has been completed. His body will be brought to Amritsar at 10 am on Tuesday, where he will be cremated with respect.

About Lt Col Abheet Singh Batth

  • Lt Col Batth was born and completed his education from Amritsar
  • He completed his studies from Khalsa College
  • Later he joined the Indian Army
  • Presently he was posted at Mamoon Cantt near Pathankot
  • On 2nd of August, he was on a training flight with co-pilot Captain Jayant during which the accident happened.

Father of Lt Col Abheet also served in the Indian Army and retired from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Lt Col Sarvjit Singh Batth (Retd.) has been awarded the Sena Medal. Before independence, his native village was in Pakistan. After partition, Lt. Col Sarvjit Singh Batth moved to Amritsar and joined Indian Army as a commissioned officer. He had died only a few years back.

Lt Col Batth is survived by his mother, wife Sukhpreet and two children.
