About Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)
The AFCAT exam is conducted online in centres across all major cities of the country. Candidates pursuing 3rd semester of their engineering degree are eligible to apply for the AFCAT written exam. As per the previous iteration of the exam, only those candidates who are at least 20 years old can apply. The upper age limit for Flying branch is 24 years while the upper age limit for ground duty branch is 26 years.

AFCAT 1 2022 Age Limit
Flying
Age – 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jan 2023 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1999 to 01 Jan 2003. (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jan 2003 (both dates inclusive)
Educational Qualification
- A graduate candidate with minimum 60% marks and must have scored minimum 60%marks in Maths and Physics in 10+2 in 12th standard.
- B.Tech/ B.E candidates who have scored minimum 60% marks and have scored 60% marks in Maths and physics in 10+2 in 12th standard are also eligible for it.
Ground Duty Technical
Age – 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2023 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jan 2003 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification – The candidate must have B.Tech/ B.E degree in notified streams as mentioned in the official notification of the IAF with minimum 60% marks and have scored minimum 60% marks in Physics and Maths in 10+2 standard are eligible for technical entry.
Ground Duty Non-Technical
Age – 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2023 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jan 2003 (both dates inclusive).

AFCAT 1 2022 Exam Timing and Shift
All applicants who applied for AFCAT 1 2022 will be allotted AFCAT Exam Center and Date. It is mandatory for the candidates opting for Ground Duty (Technical) branch to appear in both AFCAT as well as Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).
