About CME (Pune)
CME (College of Military Engineering) is situated at Dapodi on NH4, a large army base in Pune established in 1943. CME is one of the premier institutes of engineering in India. It is the tactical and technical training institution of the Indian Army Corps of Engineers. The training of combat engineers, BRES (Border Road Engineering Services), Military Engineering Services, and various surveys are done here. Apart from giving training to Indian Army Officers, the CME is engaged in multiple research projects and experimentation and also gives advice to the Indian Army.

History of CME (Pune)
SME (School of the Military Engineering) and was previously dependent upon the Thompson College of Engineering, currently known as IIT Roorkee. Before Independence, the officers of the Corps of Engineers were trained at the Royal School of Military Engineering. During World War 2 the dedicated school which imparts combat engineering training to officers was set up at Roorkee. After Independence, the SME was moved to Dapodi, Pune. In 1951 November, the SME was got status of the college, with its degree recognized by the Institution of Engineers.
Courses Offered by CME (Pune)
CME offers training to Corps of Engineers other arms and services, Navy, Air force, Para-Military forces, Police, and civilian. Both officers and Personnel below Officer Rank get training in CME. The students of Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Nepal also trained here. The college is affiliated with JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) for its B-Tech and M-Tech degrees. Its graduate and post-graduate courses are recognized by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and the University of Pune.

How to take admission in CME (PUNE)
