AFCAT Entry is a golden opportunity for aspirants who wants to join Indian Air Force as Pilot, Technical or GDoC officers. It is the online exam conducted twice every year by CDAC to shortlist the candidates for various courses of Indian Air Force. Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a non-UPSC exam which is currently being handled by the CDAC through Online test. It is only made to select the candidates for Indian Air Force Officer Entries.
Eligibility for AFCAT Exam
For Flying Branch:
- The candidate’s age should be between 20 to 24 years as of 01 July.
- The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years
For Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches:
- The age of the applicants should be between 20 to 26 years as of 01 July.
AFCAT Written Exam Pattern
AFCAT Written exam is conducted in two shifts including 2 exams each. First exam is AFCAT General Aptitude that is mandatory for all Indian Airforce aspirants. 2nd exam is EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) which is conducted for candidates who applied for Technical Entry in Air Force.Here is the exam pattern of AFCAT.

How to Apply AFCAT:
Those who want to join Indian Air Force as a Flying Pilot or other Officer Cadre need to follow the following steps to fill AFCAT Form and appear for the written exam:
Total Time: 15 minutes
Step 1: Registration
1- Click on the Active link to Apply for AFCAT 2 2019 Entry 2- Submit your personal details like Fathers name, Mothers name, Applicant name, Email ID, Phone number, etc. 3- After successful submission of the details, click on SIGN UP. 4- You will now receive the password on the registered Email ID.
Step 2: Filing Online Application Form for AFCAT
1- Login In with your registered Email ID and password. 2- Click on the Notification of Exam (AFCAT Entry) you want to apply. 3- A separate form will appear that you need to fill for Online Application submission. Fill Personal Details: In this tab, you will be required to fill the personal details like Aadhar Card number, Visible identification Mark, PABT status, Date of Birth (DOB), Gender and Marital status, etc. Fill Educational Details: In this tab, you need to fill your educational details including highest education level and the graduation details. Select Your Course Preference: As there are different courses for Flying, Technical and GDoC branch in the Indian Air Force, you need to select the preference of courses as per your educational qualification and eligibility. (NOTE: The EKT Exam is only applicable for candidates who have applied for AE (L) and AE(M) branches). Fill Communication Details: The communication details including your permanent address, corresponding address need to be added in the form.
Step 3: Upload Photo, Signature and Thumb Impression
Here you need to follow the image guidelines as given in the Notification. The images you will be uploading should be in JPG/JPEG format. Also, their size must reside between 10KB to 50KB. Finally, you need to select the exam centre for AFCAT 2 2019.
Step 4: Online Payment of AFCAT Application Fees
There is a standard application fee of Rs. 250 for AFCAT 2 2019. You can either pay the fees through the offline mode (Challan) or through online mode. The Challan needs to be paid at any HDFC or AXIS branch. To pay online you can use any debit/credit card.
