1. Insas Rifle 

The Indian Army uses Insas Rifle and the Indian Navy and Air Force. The gun is made on the lines of an AK-47. INSAS stands for Indian Small Army System, and its manufacturing is in India only. The rifle was manufactured first in the year 1994. And its first glimpse was shown in 1998’s Republic Day Parade. 

Soldiers used Insas extensively during the 1999 Kargil War.

2. AK- 203 

With the AK Series, AK-47 is the most basic model, and AK-203 is the most complex and latest weapon model that the Indian Army has in its collection. After 47, AK- 56, 74, 100 and 200 are also in the collection. 

A fully loaded AK-203 weighs around 4 kg, and the gun has both automatic and fully-automatic versions available for officers. 

3. Pistol Auto 9MM 1A 

9MM 1A is a popular gun used fiercely in the Indian Army. From critical operations in the North East to encounters in Jammu & Kashmir, this weapon is vital for the officers. A semi-automatic and self-loading pistol that uses a 9×9 bullet is a popular choice for anyone. 

4. Destroyer, Anti Material Rifle (ARM)

The Destroyer Anti-Material (ARM) is an in-born gun manufactured in the Ordnance Factory in Tiruchirappalli, India. The Destroyers can shoot a person in the range of 1800 meters. The rifle weighs around 25 Kg and is 1.7 meters long. The gun is fabricated in the line ARM Rifle of the US Army. The weapon has been prepared and used since 2005. 

5. IMI Galil 7.62 Sniper Rifle 

Galil Sniper Rifle is a manufacturing product of an Israeli company named IMI. Galil has a 20-round magazine. Around 25 countries, along with India, use this rifle because of its technology. And this model is very trendy in the Indian Army. 

6. Dragunov SVD 59 Sniper Rifle 

A rifle with 7.62 x 54 MM cartilage, Dragunov was first used during the cold war. With more than 10- round magazines, it can target enemies within 800-900 meters. Dragunov was made for military mobilization. And it is a gas-operated sniper.

The designer of this Sniper Rifle is Yvegne Dragunov, who has also designed weapons for the Soviet Union during the 1950s.  

7. Mauzer SP 66 Sniper Rifle 

Mauzer SP 66 is a German production bolt-action sniper rifle. This gun is quite similar to the one used by ordinary citizens and is also a hunting rifle for many civilians. Mauzer can hit a target located at a range of up to 800 meters. 

The Indian Army and other special defence forces use this model.  

8. NSV Heavy Machine Gun 

NSV Machine Gun is manufactured at the Ordnance Factory Board Factory in Tiruchirapalli, India. But one more country holds the production of this rifle, and that is Russia. Offices use this gun to drop down helicopters and fighter jets, which can also be used as an anti-aircraft gun. The fire rate of NSV is 700-800 rounds per minute. 

NSV consists of a 12.7x108mm cartridge, making it easy to attack enemies very closely. The great thing about this gun is that it can attack aircraft within a range of 1500 meters above the ground.   

9. SAF Carbine 2 A 1 Sub Machine Gun 

SAF is a silent gun mostly used for secret missions or search operations. The sound of the gun gets minimal while firing as the barrel works as a silencer. The weapon is manufactured in the Ordnance Factory, Kanpur. Light in weight and automatic, this gun is ahead of its competitors. 

The SAF Carbine can fire 150 rounds per minute. 

10. AKM Assault Rifle 

AKM, an advanced version of AK-47, is a popular assault rifle. The rate of firing for this gun is around 600 rounders per minute. The model comes in both automatic and semi-automatic versions.
