NDA 2 2017Â
NDA (National Defence Academy) is the first defense opportunity that an aspirant gets to join the forces. The opportunity gives the way in for all army navy and air force.
Age – 161/2 – 19 ½ years
Educational Qualification – 12th appearing or passed. (* must have PCM in 12 as permanent subjects for air force and navy)
Applicable for – Army, Navy, Air Force
Application forms – The application forms for NDA 2 2017 are open and the last date to apply for it is 30 June 2017. The exam is scheduled in September. Applicants can apply for it over upsconline.nic.in.
CDS 2 2017
Combined Defense Service is the exam that is for all the graduate candidates. It is also for all three services and army calls for women in this entry in short service commission.
Age – Minimum age – 19 years; maximum age – 22 (NA), 23 (air force), 24 (IMA), 25 (OTA)
Educational qualification – IMA/OTA- graduation in any discipline; NA B.E. or B.Tech; AFA – graduation in any discipline with physics and maths in 12th class OR B.Tech/ B.E. pass out or appearing.
Applicable for – Army (IMA- men; OTA – Men and Women), Navy (Men) Air Force (Men)

AFCAT 2 2017
AFCAT is the entry for which candidates can apply after their graduation and post-graduation as per the schemes and subjects of the entries in AFCAT. All the streams in the AFCAT are open for both men and women.
Branches – Flying, Technical, Ground Duty
Age –Â
- Flying – 19-23 (For CPL holder it is 19-25)
- Technical – 18-28
- Ground duty – 19-23(for graduates) & 19-25 (For post graduates)
Educational qualification –
- Flying – 60% in graduation with physics and maths in 12th OR B.E.
- Technical – fist class degree in subjects mentioned in the notification
- Ground duty – For Administration, Logistic and Accounts first class degree in Graduation/ PG in subjects mentioned in the notification; for Education and meteorological, 50% in PG in subjects mentioned in the notification.

Territorial Army
It is the opportunity giver to those candidates who want to serve in the army side by side maintaining their personal employment parallel.
Age – 18-42 years
Educational Qualification – Graduation in any discipline
Applicable for – Army (only for men)
Application form – The application forms for Territorial Army are open and the last date for applying for it is 30th June 2017. Applicants can apply for it on joinindianarmy.nic.in
All the above entries will provide a good opportunity to the candidates. The entries have a good count of vacancies and the competition in the screening is also less as compared to the direct entries. The syllabus for the exams is different as the authorities conducting these exams are different, except CDS and NDA which are conducted by same authority i.e. UPSC. Utilize the opportunities and make it his time.
