According to the media sources, about 42 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawans were martyred in a severe militant attack at Lethpora along the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The CRPF Jawans were on a convoy from Srinagar to Jammu. The incident took place at around 1530 hours. The militant attacked two CRPF vehicles that caused a huge loss.
“The vehicles which came under attack were part of a convoy from Jammu to Srinagar. There were also reports of firing upon the vehicles. The fatalities could rise and there were several CRPF men inside the bus which was targeted by the militants,” a CRPF officer said.
Militants Attacked 2 Vehicles in Convoy:
As per the sources, there were total 78 vehicles in the convoy out of which two vehicles were attacked by the militants using IED. Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed the responsibility for the attack where we lose 42 soldiers.
The sources said that the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed the IED explosive-laden vehicle in the bus carrying CRPF Jawans.
More than 2500 CRPF Personnel were in Convoy:
More than 2500 CRPF Personnel were in the convoy where some of the personnel were returning back on duty after a leave. Usually, the convoy takes about 1000 personnel but due to bad weather conditions, the highway was not having any movement for last 2-3 days. The bus attacked belongs to the 54th Battalion of the Force that had 44 Personnel on board.

Making this issue political, the Congress has started blaming Narendra Modi led Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for this incident. The Congress has blamed PM Modi and his government for this huge loss to India. Congress pointed out that this is the 18th Major terror attack under the Modi rule.
Congress mentioned the Pampore, Uri, Pathankot, Amarnath, Gurdaspore, Sunjuwan Terror Attack, and many more names in the list, where we lose our men due to the silence of Modi government. Under the Modi governance, we have lost about 400 jawans due to ceasefire violation by Pakistan. But still, the government has maintained complete silence.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Sigh Surjewala said “This is the biggest attack since Uri, but Modi-Ji has no time for expressing his disappointment. Where is his 56-inch chest now?“
List of 42 CRPF Jawans Martyred in Pulwama Terror Attack
Below is the list of 42 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the Suicide bomber attack in Pulwama, Kashmir. Most of the soldiers have been martyred however, some have encountered severe injuries and are under treatment.
It is the worst terror attack by militants after Uri Attack in September 2016. As per the Police investigation, the terrorist has been identified as Adil Ahmad alias Waqas who hails from Pulwama and joined Jaish-e-Mohammed in 2018. He was the commando of Gundi Bagh.
