Indian Navy Uniform: Dress 1

The Dress named No. 1 and No. 3 has the following particulars:

  • Peak Cap or White Turban ( for Sikh) and White Full Sleeved Shirt under a Black Blazer paired with a black tie. The uniform has stripes on the sleeves to view special officers and MCPO and CPO.
  • Has army badges for PO and below, Medals for Dress No. 1 and Ribbons for Dress No. 3 and Name tally along with chest badges. 
  • The attire is completed with black trousers, black shoes, and shocks. 

2. Dress No. 2 and Dress No. 4

Indian Navy Uniform: Dress 2

This uniform is dedicated to officers and sailors.

  • This Navy Uniform has a white-sleeved shirt under a black mess jacket with stripes on sleeves and a black bow tie. 
  • It also consists of a Name Tally, Turn back on lapels (Midshipmen), Guilt Button Size 2, Chest Badges, Black Kamarband.
  • Paired with black winter trousers, black socks, and shoes. 

 5. Dress No. 6

  • It consists of a peak cap with a plain white full-sleeved shirt, a black mess jacket, and a bow tie to complete the look. It also has stripes on the sleeves.

Made for Officers and Sailors 

  • The dress has a white half-sleeved white shirt with a peak cap or white turban.
  • Additional shoulder straps for MCPO and CPO 
  • Arm badges for POs and ribbons for a rank below POs. 
  • Name Tally, 
  • Shorts, stockings and shoes, all white in color. 

Notes: 

  1. Female officers can wear White Skirts instead of shorts.
  2. Instead of Whitecap or turban, people can wear a Beret Black Turban.
  3. Gym shoes and sandals are allowed only at sea. 

8. Dress No. 8a

  • White half-sleeved shirt with peak cap

  • Overall Blue Uniform for Sailors and Overall White Uniform for Officers with a White Cap/ turban
  • Has Additional Slip-on Shoulder Badges for designations like Officers, CPO/MCPO.
  • For POs and below, they have arm badges
  • Paired with black socks and non-slip shoes.

10. Dress No. 10

  • The uniform has a Light Blue Shirt and a White Cap
  • Slip-on shoulder badges added for higher Officers and MCPO/CPO.
