Indian Navy is considered to be the ocean of opportunities where you can choose any of the opportunity to serve the country and become a commissioned officer in the Indian navy. But as the number of candidates is much more than the released vacancies, it’s hard to find the potential candidates and recommend them for the Navy. The SSB is one of the best selection procedure that is adopted by the Indian Defence Forces to find the eligible and capable candidates to get recommended and join Indian Navy.
For the selection of candidates, there is a list of SSB Centers for Indian Navy, where the candidates are called for assessment and are undergone 5-Days SSB Interview Procedure. All the candidates who are successfully made to the recommendations undergo medical checkup followed by the final merit list.
SSB Center for Indian Navy:
- NSB Coimbatore
- 12 SSB at SCS Bangalore
- 33 SSB at SCC Bhopal
NSB Coimbatore:
Situated in Tamilnadu, the NSB Coimbatore is raised to access the shortlisted candidates for Indian Navy. At SSB Centre Coimbatore, candidates are accessed only for Naval Academy. Hence it is only for those candidates who have applied for Indian Navy.
12 SSB at SCS Bangalore:
Bangalore is another place where the candidates are accessed for the Indian Navy. The selected candidates are called at SSB Centre Bangalore and are accessed for 5-Days. Bangalore, situated in Karnataka is also the SSB Centre of Indian Army. Bangalore SSB Center has only one SSB Board i.e. 12 SSB which is made for the selection of Indian Navy candidates.
33 SSB at SCC Bhopal:
Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh also has SSB Center for Indian Navy. Similar to Bangalore, the SSB Center Bhopal too has single SSB Board for the selection of candidates to join Indian Navy. Else all other SSB Boards at SSB Centre in Bhopal are for Indian Army only.

- National Defense Academy (NDA)
Indian Naval Academy (INA):
The INA Ezhimala is situated in Kerala where both male and female are trained for Indian navy and are later granted Permanent commission or Short Service Commission depending upon their recruitment. All the cadets apart from NDA cadets are trained at INA Ezhimala.
National Defense Academy (NDA):
At NDA Khadakwasla, Pune all the young cadets who have completed their schooling are trained for 4 years and are later granted Permanent Commission in Indian Navy. At NDA, only male candidates are trained to join Indian Navy.
