Major Gaurav Arya, currently a Senior Consulting Editor of Strategic Affairs at the Republic Media Network, was an OTC officer in the Indian Army.
Major Gaurav completed his graduation and later cleared the SSB exam to join the Indian Army as a Short Service Commissioned officer. He was an officer of the 57th Short Service Commission (non-technical). He started his training at OTA (Officers Training Academy) in Chennai and enrolled in the Jessami Company.
Later on, Gaurav Arya got commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army. Before 2006, the officers under Short Service Commission Scheme had tenure for 5 years. And any officer could extend the period for four to five years more. After completing five years of his service, Major Arya took retirement due to certain medical reasons.
The Life of Major Arya After Indian Army
After retiring from the Indian army, Gaurav took admission as an MBA student specialising in Marketing and Sales. After completing his post-graduation, he entered the corporate world. Major Arya got the chance to work in top MNCs like HCL, Hutch, Ernst & Young, Wipro, and Sterea Infratech LTD. And later on, he joined Republic TV Network positioned as Senior Consulting Editor of Strategic Affairs in 2017.

In his life, Gaurav has done some recognizable work, one of them was his article for Swarajya, “Open Letter to Burhan Wani”. In this article, he showed criticism against the people who protested against the Hizbul terrorist- Burhan Wani encounter. He wrote about the situation of the Kashmiri people and what separatism has brought to Kashmir.
Moreover, the letter got a massive response from the public and got popular in the mainstream media across India. He also got a call of appreciation from the Army General of India. And after that article, he started getting calls and invitations for public speaking and debates across India.

Even though he was a devoted army officer, Major Arya also got popular with his role right now for Republic TV. Gaurav Arya is a perfect shield for Indian news, and he can debate against any argument and probably win it.
